After S posting his own blogs for so long now, I am taking the innitiative to build my own :)
So here I am.
Anything new and exciting to start with...
I'm full time at O'sheas Casino now, the bosses are pushing to get me dual rate, which means deal a few days and be a floorperson a few days a week. I was pretty sure that wasn't for me yet. S doesn't think it is a good idea either. So I took the topic to the Almighty Nick. Nick is the owner of the school we went to for dealing, and he has been in the business from dealer to floor and more for God knows how long... 30 years or something! Well I've not even got a year of dealing under my belt. Nick things one should never have to go to the floorperson position if they dont want. And I've got it made as a dealer, and can work my way up HOUSE-wise and end up dealing in a bigger house rather than standing floor in a mediocre house. Heck I might even be at Hard Rock's Casino by next year!
So I will watch everyone else go floor, who so far are mostly already post-career. M1 has been thru a computer career, M2 has a military career, and AJ has a hair dressing carreer- all behind them, all are dealers/floorperson with less than 1 year experience dealing. I'm stil young with a fruitful dealing career ahead of me :) I'm going to go for that plan!
On that note- I'm going to say that I am also tired of trying to help other dealers, namely dice dealers. There are a few of blackjack dealers learning to be dice dealers, and they won't even concider the procedures of the game and insist on doing things thier way, well I tried to correct, help and show the way- but its like talking to rocks. SoI decided every man/woman for themselves. I know the procedures and follow them, I will have the better chance in the Flamingo and anywhere else in the future and they will have to learn the hard way!
