Let's start out light heartedly...
My Chinese Friend "R" is adorable, the is the name one who says "nanananana-nine..." on the dice table stick position. Some oen a few weeks ago was teaching her american slang like "nerd" and "weirdo." So then she spoke up one day and called some one a "noodle" but it sounds more like new-doe with her sweet little chinese-girl accent. So we all just thought it was something chinese, calling someone a "noodle" and it makes me laugh and smile when she says it. So I started calling her "noodle" too. Then she asked me one day after work what it means to call someone a noodle. I said I had no idea, I just guessed it was her thing. But she said "no you teached me" tho I didn't... So she asked me what I call people when I tease them, I came up with "nerd" right away. So she said "yea, like noodle?!" I just looked at her and said "OK." I can't even come up with a spelling for the way "nerd" sounds coming from her! Then about a week later she said "it's not 'noodle' its "wierdo.'" But Noodle stuck, and now we just call each other "Noodle."
I had a Tall 30-something "M" next to my base today. I was using the stoop to be tall enough because I had a player on 1st, so I had to make it easier to reach. But M called me "3 inch taller girl" so I could look be tall like him. He cracked me up- every time he won he's kind of hit me in the arm in excitement. The 1st time was more like exstatic, over excitement. It startled the crap out of me. But it continued with every win and I said "Take it easy! I'm gonna get questioned at home, when my arm is all bruised up."
Oh and one time L was on stick and sent the dice to him when he was not the shooter, and L was busy talking as usual, to someone on the other side of the table. M pointed to the shooter and said "Hey L, I think that's your shooter!" So L looked then pushed the dice to the right person and L says sorry I was talking to someone. M said, "Oh, well don't let me interrupt you!" the next roll was a winner, Smack, I felt on my arm again! And M said "L, dorry worry about that comment, Do what ever you have to do to call those winners!" So I said "You gotta hit me everytime you win?!?!" He apologized and asked if I wanted to hit back....
Then L was getting tapped out off of the stick, and L was also on my side, so I commented to M "I've got bad news for you" and he was intrigued what it could be, I took care of the current roll's pay-outs and told him "Your friend is on his way over, and I had to take a break." But his reply was most unexpected... "Oh he's alright.. You're my friend tho! But I can't be your friend, You have a boyfriend or something..." Or Something! ;), Yup S is a Something Alright!
One more story...
Four guys from Chicago walk up and buy in 100.00 each. Players cards and all! One guy makes an early comment on how Long the table was. The other guy says "Long (pretends to undo his belt) I'll show you Long" I interjected "I seen that!" He said "You weren't supposed to!" I said back " I see everything!" A 3rd guy says "that's your job, right?!" I replied "Yea, Part of it..."
Then when these guys were rolling the 1st guy throws teh dice and when they land he said he needed a telelscope to see them that far away...I had to, just HAD to reply as I pointed to Mr. I'll Show You Long "Telescope- He's gone one, apparently!" And they all laughed together, And said I was awesome & had a witty personality.

It's Been a While
My time and energy have been preoccupied for a while... I've had a few things to talk about here but haven't gotten a chance to come back to tell you about it.
Let's See... A week or so ago- the infamous Aaron showed up on swing shift, nothing has changed there - he might be worse before the night winds down, he really embarrasses me with his naughty comments!
Oh- Last thursday, and a lot ever since, I have been teh cooler. Friday, I couldnt call a number for the life of me. The dice made 2 laps thru a full table of shooters with creating points then one of the following 2 rolls are sure to be a 7-out! It was Ice Cold!!
The following days have been almost as bad, but yesterday- for the 1st time, I seen all 6 points for the fire bet get made, I wanted to pass out, and not a soul was playing it, LOL... we rubbed it in pretty hard too! only One Dollar would have paid $1000.00. The Max bet of $5 on it would have been 5 times as sweet!
Someone called OSHA on O'shea's - Friday we had sound monitors on various staff members to register the decibles of the live band which has been entirely too loud for a few months, but if it stays where OSHA set it it will be perfect.
So far I am still at O'shea's, no sign of a transfer yet... *grumble*
Well Stanley has a new story on his dog-blog. Go check it out when you are done here, if you havent yet!
Thats it from me for now!

Too Tall to Call?
The weekend seemed to have erased my brain. I spent too much time not working and completely focussed on S. Lets include lack of sleep.
I go back to work yesterday (Sunday) and start on stick. A few normal rolls pass and then a die lands in the rail. This happens a lot but this time my brain was out to lunch - I added the dice together anyway and made the call!?!?! The box man made fun of me and said "NO ROLL... Too Tall to Call!" as I laughed at myself and moved on.
What a start to the day!

Promiscuous Blows
This guy, Mark, late-20's aged was playing dice already when we started the new shift at 7pm tonight. So probably before I ever got there he was getting people to blow on his dice. Odd thing was he didn't seem to care male or female...
B was sitting box and was sucker enough to blow on the dice for him just a little to frequently.
Then, later P was sitting box and he gave one blow, then no further blows as he said he "didn't want to be promiscuous." This made me laugh and P had a hard time keeping a straight face after I busted up. And P refused to blow again, but the begging was futile, this guy wouldn't throw the dice until someone blew.
I called out across the table, ( he was not on my side of the table) "Hey, Mark! Over here..." A little wink and very flitatious soft puckered breath in his direction and then the dice rolled. A simple 6, no big deal. The next few also came from me. But then he asked and begged P again, did I mention P is a MAN? Finally P cupped his hand to the side of his mouth like telling a secret in 2nd grade and blew a secret blow, which was just as funny as the promiscuosity comment. But the dice rolled following this blow into a horrendous 7-Out! P says "And this is why I didn't want to do it!" I knew P was thinking Thank god for a new shooter!

Dices and Idiots
It's a Friday night and we have a $10 game going on. Only a few players at the monent. A sloppy, younger man walks up to the table with a singe red chip and puts in into the "field bet." I call out "No Bet!" And as he picks up the bet I tell him it is a $10 table.
So after he watches for a few minutes he asks "how can I buy five dices like that?" I had to laugh out loud!
First of all dices? That's a verb! The act of dicing, perhaps as you would with veggies!
Dice is the plural form for more than one Die.
Now on the whole $10 game topic. I love, and when I saw Love, I really mean Hate, people who want to play and treat it like roulette. IT IS NOT $10 TOTAL!!! It's $10 per bet! And then people want to put their own bets down... Someone throws $10 into the hard 10 area, I have to pick up the bet anyway, ask whose it is and what it is. If you are a dice dealer you know, but otherwise everyone asks how we know whose bet is whose... and this is why we have placement and geographic acknowledgement for each player. Where a player stands around the table decides where their bets are set up and therefor reminds us who to pay when that bet wins. This is why only the pass and dont pass, come and field areas are SELF SERVE. So keep your hands out of the bet zones of numbers and prop bet areas!
Some days I just wanna whack people with the stick!

misleading lies or misconceived highs...
The supervisor who told me my score was not in yesterday. I had noticed the top boss in his office while on my break. I stopped in and asked to get my rank, wanting to find out for sure how far down on the list I was. I said "I'm in hte 59 set," but the boss said "No, I think you're 57" he flipped thru until he found my name. He was right. I complained of being lied to by the other guy. I felt to fool all the rest of my day. I put my name on the EO, I was steaming and wanted to get out of there.
Someone suggested 59 was a universal answer when anyone asked this guy. Because another dealer was also told 59 and later found out it was 61... Why did mine have to go the other direction. :(
Another suggestion was he just didn't read it right... was the writing unclear?
Who knows th truth behind my sad, misleading lie.
I won't be part of the 1st 17. After that 17, I am 8 down the list. I am guessing 6 to 8 weeks before the new job is mine...
I havent heard word of the dice auditions yet, if they should arrise I might make it back to that beloved 59...

Off topic, I came across this site.
A lounge in PA with a very opinionated owner, who puts his opinion in plain view!

Larry the Cable Guy?
Yesterday we had an ornery one on the Craps table.
He Looked Like, Sounded Like, Acted Like... Larry The Cable Guy, and he knew it, so he played off it, and we egged it on!
He said Larry TCG married his grandmother's daughter, do the math, jokingly.
The use of words like britches and supper, cracked me up.
He made cracks at me that I needed a spankin' and red-necked come-ons of sorts.
And when the table closed, I bid him a flirtatious farewell and good luck, and he told me he was going up to the other table where Raquel was dealing. I said she wouldn't "bump uglies" with him either :)
I just could not get over the resemblances!
